Edit Maps, Disable Ads, Disable Expiration
You can now edit your maps after they are created. Just add your email to the options when you are saving your map initially, you will get an email with a link to edit your map. For existing maps, just use the link you got in the email for deleting (don’t worry it won’t delete your map.)
The new edit screen will give you access to the following new options:
- You can change the title, description, and URL of your map
- You can change the email address associated with your map
- You can change the privacy status of your map
- You can set your map to never expire even if it doesn’t receive page views for over 2 months
- You can disable ads on your saved map
The map screen is also full screen now, which makes for a lot easier map to navigate especially when you have lots of points. You might need to tweak your browser size before printing is the only draw back.
Although the new edit features don’t currently include a way to update the markers, you can set a URL for your map. So next time you want to update your map, you can just delete the old one and set the new map to the old URL. The URL can be anything you like, maybe set it to something easy to remember.
Let me know what you think of these latest features.

I used to be able to use a single reference address as one color and other addresses around it as a different color. Is there still a way to do that? For instance if I show my home office as one address, then all employees adresses as a different color to show their distance from the home office.
I have a number locations that I need to edit that appear in the wrong country. I believe this is due to data error. Is it possible in the "edit" mode to manually move the locations that are on the map?
I love the map I've created w/ your website. My only q. so far is, how do I get the company name to appear before the address in the list beneath the map? As of now, it appears like this:
1 Main St
Anywhere, MA 00000
Company: ABC Company
phone: 555-555-5555
would like to have more than 1000 points. Will that ever be possible?
How can I batch data? When I attempt to import more than 500 locations I receive the prompt that I should batch. However when I attempt to compelte two batches the first batch locations are always removed from the map. Also when I go to edit, the area to paste in more locations isn't being displayed. Please help!!
Mapping UK codes give very approximate locations (often miles out).
I don't mind dragging them all to exact locations but if I then add one new marker I will have to re-code the whole map and therfore have to re-drag all the old markers.
Any chance we'll be able to add moarkers to an existing map sometime?
Andy – you should be able to edit markers now, check the latest blog update on editing maps.
Looks like I can do everything I want having just watched the video – such cool software – just gotta try it out now.
How do I edit my Map markers? Say I want to color code for example.
And also, how do I select which column fields are displayed when I scroll over the map marker?
PHK: Could you please let me know how to delete a map if we lost the e-mail with the delete link in it. I have friend who would like to delete a map he created but can’t seem to find that e-mail. Thanks for your support!
I didn’t read the instructions clearly and now I don’t know how to edit a map! I’ve saved it after numerous hours of shifting things around. Tell me I don’t have to start again please!
What does the “Render Method” do? It is supposed to “Toggle showing of locations & data below map, or showing map only” and the two options are:
1. Map + Data
2. Map Only (Faster)
I tried both but can’t see any difference.
Never mind, found it: PRINTING the map shows the addresses with the former option selected.
