Built-in locator function on saved maps

I added a locator function to the saved maps so now you don’t even need to write any code to create a store locator for your web site.

Users will see the box in the upper right hand corner prompting them to “Find the closest” by entering an address, zip code, city, etc.. Actually even place names will work. And unlike most locators we actually show directions to the nearest location, not just where it is.

Has anyone else found a free store locator map creator that’s as easy to use as BatchGeo?

UPDATE: You can now disable the locator using a toggle on the Edit Map screen.

Is it possible to exclude the built in locator? I have already created a form that works for me.

Or please have a button in between the search and BatchGeo logo link. It looks like you should click on the logo to do the search.

    Thanks

Thanks for this amazing tool-but I have one issue that is driving me mad. Can you recommend a way of making the map zoom in—I have searched google and it seems this might be possible using the API, or perhaps using "z=" somewhere in a normal google maps link, but I cannot get it to function using batchgeo. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using on this site http://411-towing.com/, which lists about 500 locations, almost all in Manhattan, so I want it zoomed in tight on Manhattan. I am using A WordPress self hosted site if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance:)

Thanks SO MUCH for "disable the locator"

And I neglected to say: No, I have not seen a better free product.

I work for a non-profit, I'm using this to map our cooking instructors.

If there's a way to link it a google spreadsheet, that would be cool.

This one came up more often in my searches:

    http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/geocoder/

but your batchgeo is more user-friendly in my opinion…

    keep up the good work.

This is a great utility site, and very easy. Is there any way to get a breadcrumb type of effect?

In other words, I feed in a list of times, lat, and long, and I want the app to put the points on a map and draw a line from one point to the next in time order.

This would be valuable as I have a list of delivery van gps times for a day, and I want to view the order they drove.

    Any guidance?

This is sooo much easier than Google, but…………

How can I get the accuracy of a plot using the street address, but supress the display of the address (number and street name ) on the finished map. That is I don’t necessarily want to display the address in the little baloon when you press the pin marker on the map. (I know this is weird, but its a privacy issue)

Looking for the easiest way (or a way at all) to search just the plotted points. It would be helpful to be able to have a list of friends that have their addresses plotted and then be able to have a search function that just says “i’m looking for So and So” and the search takes you straight to their plotted point.

Hi – awesome tool … I have been struggling with building a store locator and this solves all my problems.
Only issue I’m having is for some reason I can not get the directions panel to open. I only have the location and no ability to “get directions”…
    Thoughts, suggestions?

Is there a way for it not to redirect to maps.google but rather remain inside the BatchGeo iFrame embedded on the site?
I would prefer to keep the user on my site than sending them to a new page.
