Google requests disabling of geocoding output
Google has officially requested that we disable some elements of our site that allow users to extract geocoded coordinates in bulk. It is in violation of their Terms of Service agreement. Many of the rules in the TOS are requirements of third party data providers that do not like their data being accessible outside of whichever system they have licensed it to.
I find this an unfortunate turn of events, but from our stats I recognize the majority of users do not use the geocoding export feature but rather keep their data hosted on BatchGeo by saving their map. We will of course continue to offer free map hosting to all interested, and look forward to rolling out more features all of the time to keep our users happy.
BatchGeo is still the quickest way to make a map!

Any chance this function will ever come back? That was my onle reaso for using this site.
Does anyone know any other free software which can convert a list of addresses into coordinates(longitude and latitude)? It is only to use it for my thesis, it would be so helpfull! Please let me know.
This sucks!
dang, yahoo too. granted I understand why, its a business, and maptive cant really survive if they keep giving away the free unlimited lat long geocodes like yahoo and google. limited to 2500 also stinks when there didn’t use to be a limit.
Shame – I liked having the lat/long saved on my computer once I had positioned the pointers more accurately than the centre of a UK postcode and ‘saved’ the map. Only so that if I changed details of a pointer I didn’t have to ‘re-point’ the maarker – something that happens quite often with my datset.
It’s a pity as the actual lat/long data is of no use to me except for the above reason – i.e. no threat to the data provider.
Hey, ho …
Is there a site where I can get the lat/longs and copy them into the spreadsheet I use when updating my geocodes map?
Yup. I’m totally bummed. It was the only reason I came here as well. Bookmark deleted.
Too bad you couldn’t keep single address to lat/long conversion alive. Back to ripping the data out of linkTo URLs.
Hello:
I know to convert a position in a plane to their geographical coordinates
Also moving from UTM coordinates (UTM zone or knowing about the situation) to geographical coordinates …
